John Elway
Stats: 234 games, 51,475 passing yards, 300 touchdown passes, 226 interceptions, 56.9 completion percentage, 3,407 rushing yards, 33 rushing touchdowns
Elway entered the league amid controversy. In 1983, he was selected number one overall by the Baltimore Colts. But he refused to report to the team, forcing their hand–and a trade–and was dealt to the Denver Broncos. In his career, Elway set the career marker for 47 drives to win or tie games in the 4th quarter. In the twilight of his career, Elway led the Broncos to back-to-back Super Bowl championships in 1997 and 1998, his final two seasons before retiring.
