Kickers. They can be the ultimate hero in a game. Or they can be the biggest goat. It all comes down to whether the ball sails true and flies through the uprights, goes to the dreaded wide right or wide left, or comes up short. Choosing the best of all time is an inexact science, so your mileage may vary here.
Adam Vinatieri
Stats: 304 games, 499/594 field goals made/attempted, 84.0% FG%, 738/750 PAT made/attempted
Called “Mr. Clutch” by many in the media for his game-tying or game-winning kicks in every type of weather, Vinatieri is perhaps the greatest kicker to ever play the game. He owns four Super Bowl rings–three with the New England Patriots in 2001, 2003, and 2004–and one with the Indianapolis Colts in 2006.
