Mark it down in the sports history books! The Dodgers’ Mookie Betts improved his average to .314. On Thursday he hit three home runs against the San Diego Padres, the sixth time he’s hit three home runs in one game. With his smaller stature no one would expect such power behind his swing but his managers knew otherwise. With his speed, strength, defense, and bat-to-ball skills Betts is loved by his managers, especially David Roberts. “I know he hits homers, but it’s more power than I expected,” Roberts said. The 27-year-old right fielder signed a 12-year, $265 million contract extension right before the start of the shortened baseball season.
