New year, new power rankings in the NFC South, one of the NFL’s most competitive divisions. While the New Orleans Saints remain stacked on offense with Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara and the 2019 Offensive Player of the Year, Michael Thomas, will be the two new forces to be reckoned with. Maybe the most recognizable face in all of professional sports, Tom Brady, has moved south from New England to Tampa Bay to try and rejuvenate the Buccaneers franchise. 43-year-old, Brady, encouraged his longtime teammate, Rob Gronkowski, to come out of retirement to join him. Since the All-Pro tight end’s mother lives in Fort Myers, just a few hours outside of Tampa, Gronk agreed to join his buddy. The Buccaneers, who already have talented skill players like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, added additional stand-out players like LeSean McCoy, and are ready to compete for a division title. Meanwhile, the Carolina Panthers have also added a new face this season, as their quarterback for the past 9 seasons, Cam Newton, left to fill Tom Brady’s shoes in New England. The Panthers will now rely heavily on their talented young running back Christian McCaffrey to fill the void left by Newton. And don’t sleep on the Atlanta Falcons; They still have one of the best wide receivers in the league, Julio Jones, and have also added 3x Pro Bowler, Todd Gurley to their backfield. Games between these teams should be explosive and exciting to watch all season long.
