Don Hutson – Green Bay Packers, 1942
Stats: 74 receptions, 1,211 yards, 17 touchdowns
Back in 1942, the NFL wasn’t a passing league. At all. In fact, Packers quarterback Cecil Isbell completed just 146 passes (which led the league) and half went to Hutson. His season was so impressive at the time that his 17 touchdown catches were more than any quarterback in the league threw. It was a truly unbelievable season in that era of football.
