1955 – Johnny Podres (Brooklyn Dodgers)
Podres had quite the World Series in 1955 for the Dodgers. He tossed a complete game in Game Three and then went on to pitch a 2-0 shutout in the decisive Game-Seven win over the Yankees–earning himself the first-ever Most Valuable Player award in history.
