Since the 2019-2020 NBA season was placed on hold back in March due to the worldwide Coronavirus pandemic, 22 of the 30 teams have been invited to Florida to compete in the season restart which began on July 30. With a new focus on health and safety protocols players and coaches have returned to the court to battle for a spot in this year’s playoffs. Teams like the Phoenix Suns, led by their young superstar Devin Booker, have taken full advantage of the restart by launching themselves up the standings and right into playoff contention. The atmosphere at the games has felt a little different due to the fact that there are no fans allowed in the NBA bubble at Walt Disney World; However, teams have been inviting their family members and superfans to cheer them on virtually on video boards surrounding the court. If you watch closely, you may find former NBA players and even a few celebrities in virtual attendance at the games. The first round of the playoffs are set to tip off on August 17.
