The New Jersey Devils have named Lindy Ruff as their new head coach. Ruff will be the 19th coach to join the Devil’s family. Ruff joins New Jersey after spending the past three seasons as an Assistant Coach with the New York Rangers, who have since hired Gord Murphy as Ruff’s replacement. He is recognized as one of the most successful coaches in NHL history, ranking third in wins among active coaches and sixth all-time. The NHL and NHLPA have reached a tentative agreement on return to play with training camp opening July 13 and games beginning on August 1.
