Swoop is the mascot for the Philadelphia Eagles. Swoop is obviously an eagle, but an American bald eagle more specifically. Swoop wears the number 00 and resides in South Philly atop Lincoln Financial Field. This mascot not only serves the Eagles, but represents numerous sports organizations in the US, many of which are university mascots. Swoop is the star of a weekly children’s animated television program called the Eagles Kids Club during the NFL regular season. Not only does Swoop star in this show, but also made a cameo appearance in the movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Ventura beat the mascot for shooing away an albino pigeon, which was worth a lot of money if captured. Swoop also had the honor of starring in an NFL Shop commercial. A thief disguised as a mascot kangaroo attempted to steal Eagles’ jerseys from the locker room after a game and Swoop entered the locker room, forcing the thief out into the hands of security guards. Swoop is a star, and definitely commands attention.
